Health food used to be a fad for the health crazed few. Choices and supplies were scarce and very expensive. Now, thanks to health and fitness awareness, it is available everywhere. Since supply has gone up, prices have gone down making it more readily available for everyone.

Good healthy nutrition combined with regular exercise will help you realize your lifetime fitness and health goals. Healthy food is good nutritious food that is beneficial to your health and well-being. Educate yourself and learn which foods are nutritious and needed in your body to stay healthy.

Choose your food wisely and carefully. Increase your intake of healthy foods that will make you feel good physically and emotionally. Eat foods with high nutritional value for increased energy that will promote good health. Fresh vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals.

With food, the nearer to its natural state, the better it is. Organically grown vegetables are best because they are free from chemicals. Eat them raw or steam them to retain its nutritional value. Fresh fruits and berries or organic fruits are better alternatives. Eat a variety of healthy foods.

Fish is rich in omega 3, which is beneficial to your health. Be sure to include fish and seafood in your diet. Bake or broil them instead of frying. Try to avoid processed meats such as hot dogs, sausages and bacon. Keep healthy snacking food always available and handy like fresh and dried fruits, crunchy vegetables with dips and nuts instead of junk snacks that are overloaded with salt and additives.

For your drinks, try to avoid sodas, sugared or diet. Plain water with a slice of lemon or lime is best. Fruit juices mixed with carbonated water is great. Herbal and green teas are good healthy addition. Avoid too much caffeine and alcohol they have no nutritional value.
